How to Spend a Weekend in San Diego

SAN-DIEGO-TRAVEL-GUIDE

Sunny San Diego is one of our favorite places to getaway for a long weekend. With perfect weather 99% of the time, beautiful beaches, trendy bites, and a ton of distinct areas to explore, there's no shortage of fun in San Diego!

WHAT TO DO, SEE, AND EAT IN SAN DIEGO

The beaches may be the main attraction, but San Diego has so much more to offer!

The historic Hotel Del Coronado is one of our favorite spots. Hotel Del, built in 1888, was the setting for the film "Some Like it Hot" and has played host to Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, Charlie Chaplin, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall among other Hollywood legends. It's even rumored to be haunted! Stop by the Crown Room for Sunday brunch or watch the sunset at their outdoor Sunset Bar.

Looking for a quick and casual lunch? Board and Brew is a local favorite and one of ours as well! With Del Mar and Pacific Beach locations, be sure to stop in and grab a sandwich to-go for a beach picnic. Order extra of their special sauce (you won't regret it!).

Raki Raki Ramen & Tskumen

For dinner, the inland area of Convoy is a hot spot. Known as San Diego's Asian Restuarant Row, Convoy is home to amazing Japanese, Chinese, Korean and more. Our favorite spot is RakiRaki Ramen & Tsukemen. Be prepared for a long wait if you go during prime dinner hours.

La Jolla is one our of favorite destinations in San Diego for a relaxing afternoon and evening. With great shopping, sightseeing, and incredible food in a beautiful setting at La Jolla Shores, what's not to love? Get drinks and small bites on the outdoor patio at the La Valencia Hotel, a gorgeous, Mediterranean-styled, pink hotel overlooking the ocean.

Herringbone La Jolla

Afterwards, grab dinner at George's At the Cove, a massive, multi-level restaurant with unbeatable ocean views, seafood-focused stunner Herringbone, or coastal Italian Catania, know for their handmade pasta.

Enjoy the nightlife in Downtown San Diego and Gaslamp. With well known clubs like Omnia, swanky rooftop bars like The Nolen, and niche themed bars like the Alice and Wonderland themed Vin De Syrah, there is a vibe for everyone. Check out speakeasy Noble Experiment for craft cocktails, but make sure you text in advance to for reservations.
